This moment, now

August 18, 2009

We’re all huddled around the window like spies
It’s how we hear the battle cries
And see the blood dripping from your eyes
It’s the price paid for all the lies
We witness it when anything dies

We’re searching for our sire
In the middle of the fire
In the throes of our desire
Watching and feeling the fire

Quick turn on the light
It’s the only way to regain our sight
We need it to scream and to rise and to fight
Though how can we tell if it’s worth fighting for?
Maybe we need darkness, nothing more

When you finally look and see
Death and destruction
Does it matter to me?
The tears of children make us realise
And wonder where we lost control
